When Album Art Meant Something

There was a time when music wasn’t just something you heard — it was something you held. Record albums weren’t just about the songs inside; they were canvases for stunning photography, bold illustrations, and iconic design. A vinyl cover invited you to connect with the music visually, to study every detail while the record spun.
Today, in the age of digital media, that tactile, visual experience is largely lost. Album art has been reduced to a small square on a screen — easy to overlook, easy to forget. We’ve gained convenience, but we’ve lost the magic of discovering music through imagery as much as sound. The album cover was part of the story. And maybe, we need to remember how powerful that was.
